Hi all,
I need more information about the design of steel box sections with transverse and/or longitudinal stiffeners, including sections with slenders components (flanges or webs).
AISC deals with some effective widths for slender elements but just for elements under uniform compression. But, what about slender elements under stress gradient,i.e. slender webs under flexure-compression effects? What about longitudinal stiffeners??
If you know some references that deal with these issues I would appreciate you to respond this post.
Thanks in advance.

AISC LRFD 3rd ed. -- Table A-F1.1 (page 16.1-100 and 101)

AISC LRFD 3rd ed. -- Fig. C-B5.1 (page 16.1-183)

As far as the design of stiffened panels, Blodgett's books are fantastic... though I can't remember which one would be best -- "Design of Weldments" or "Design of Welded Structures"
