I am working on a product to produce steam to athomspheric pressure at 0.5-1 Kg/min. There is some water becoming entrapped in the flow of steam and I need a method to measure the dryness of the steam produced to asess the performance of the device.

Anybody know of a sensor to measure dryness directly?

I was considering using a dryer and measuring the rate of water produced but still I am not sure of the quality of steam produced.

Thanks

Wouldn't it be done with something like this?

Ive worked out an internship once, where for a HRSG, steam quality had to be measured for two-phase steam flow through piping systems.
The principle was fairly simple. It used 2 orifice plates, together with a formula where the pressure drop over both orifices was correlated to the void fraction if Im not mistaken - its been 6 yrs ago).
The void fraction is a measure of 'wetness', hence dryness. I believe this principle is used more often in HRSG's, its quite simple and all it needs is some calibration and basic info on the flow regime.
