Hi
Its required to design heating coil using steam for heating inside tanks includes ufc85
Formalin
Urea solutions
The tanks material is ss
Our coil engineering contractors submitted the design and dwgs of tube coils with material CS
My question that is that possible to use cs coils inside such media noting that for steam inside coil design p = 13 bar and temp is 205 c and coil od 1 in with thickness of 1.254 mm

I am not familiar with UFC85 however you may need to look through your design documents to see if there is any reason why the storage tank is stainless steel and not CS. It could be that CS is severely corroded by UFC85 and thus SS was chosen.

So while you might be able to use both SS and CS in steam service, the exchanged fluid of UFC85 might be the deciding factor.
