Startup problem: Hidden sketches unhide!

Each time i open this part, some sketches always show up. I hide them in previous sessions and save. They still show up in the next session. What should I do?

Goto Layer Tree --> Layer --> Save Status. Ths will save the status of all the layers, including the Hidden Items layer your sketches are currently in.
