Ive always used the standard mesh until I had a course on sim premium awhile back and was told to use curvature on most parts. Well, I tried both on a few sims and ended up with very different results. Actually a difference of around 3 times. I have parts reaching a 300ksi von mises when using curvature and 110ksi using standard. Does this sound correct to you? The part is round with many slots. Thanks for input

Hello:

This sounds more like a convergence issue. Curvature based meshing reduces errors arising from topology approximation. Please use Error Norm plot under the stress plot option. If you get a monochromatic plot then convergence may not be the problem. Else, you need to refine mesh and re-run analysis.
