In another thread here the use of programmabe mice came up. I was curious which settings others use.
Here are my settings:

Funny, I recently tried a Logitech Mouse, but HATED the SetPoint driver software, so I retuned it.

Back the the good ole (5 button) MS Intellimouse Explorer. Main thing is MS Intellipoint allows different settings for different programs. So, I can program the buttons any way I see fit for SWX, but still keep default settings (or other custom settings) for other programs like internet browsers.

Anyway, my settings for SWX:
Left button: Left click (default)
Right button: Right click (default)
Middle button: Middle button
Scoll wheel: auto scroll
Large Thumb button: CONTROL
Small Thumb button: SHIFT

With this setup, I find no need for a 'space mouse,' but I have never used one, either.

I have a similar Logitech mouse and love mine. Outside of the left button, right button, middle button & scroll I also use Ctrl & shift on the sides – my most popular per SW usage. On the top I have escape, enter, & delete. Throw in a spaceball with programmable buttons for SW commands and now your really styling. The only thing missing is some foot pedals!
