I am new to Etabs and i am trying to analyse a beam with holes, so therefore i am useing a wall as a shell(see file attached). I am trying to run the analysis without openings to compare the moments or stresses before i proceed to include the openings. My problem is i'm getting the correct shear but not the correct moment, what am i doing wrong? or how can i get a wall/shell to bend like a beam.

if ure having the right shear, then u will have the right moment.

Not always true I have found, try meshing the element and you will note the moment probably changes. What's correct I have no idea, shell elements are like a big black box, completely different answer depending on the mesh size. Least that's my experience when trying to use shells for beams and columns.
