Can anyone recommend sources for lowest-cost software (Shareware?) suitable for performing basic ASME Sect VIII Div 1 calculations for shells, heads and reinforcements on vintage pressure vessels in a small chemical processing plant?
The need for calculations is related to analysis (reverse engineering) of inspection results of vessels and other pressure equipment, some with little or no documentation of original design.
I can set up spreadsheet formulas for shell and head calculations, but building a spreadsheet for reverse-engineering reinforcement calculations is a greater challenge.
The plant budget will not support full-feature packages for high-volume calculations.
