I am attending my first SWW, and have a simple question. Is there any legit reason to attend the welcome reception on Sunday? The reason I ask is because I will be watching the two NFL games on Sunday, and they should run from around noon until 7ish. Then I am taking the CSWP test at 8, and I just want to make sure I am not going to miss any really important information.

Definately a tough call, especially since I am a life-long Packers fan. I would be going to the championship game if I was not attending SWW.

You skipped a Packers Championship game...no, possibly Brett Favre's last championship game for SWW?!? You shouldn't tell people that, or you might be likely to be beaten with a bratwurst.

Dan

Yeah, I know, but this was decided a while ago. And since I figured the championship game would be played in Dallas, I thought I would just watch it while I was in San Diego. I suppose I will just have to go to the Super Bowl instead...

Last year the reception was during the SuperBowl, and they played the game at the reception on huge screens with free beers and food. I thought it was an improvement over my living room. Maybe they'll have a couple of screens running again this year. If you go to SWW to network and meet folks, you really need to go to the reception. I know I show I'm not a true fan by saying this, but you can always tape the game.

I was going to stay out of this thread, but dezignstuff has taken it too far. Tape the game?? Are you insane? It's the divisional championships! Oh, sure, you could tape the game, but there's almost no chance of being able to watch it without already knowing the outcome. At that point, you might as well just watch the highlights on ESPN!

Just for the record, it doesn't matter who the NFC sends to Arizona, the PATRIOTS are going 19-0!

Guys ... it's just a game! A bunch of overgrown gorillas fighting over a piece of dead pig. If you miss the game, then just watch the next one. You will see all the same things happen.

[now I'll retreat to my nucular safe bunker and wait till the dust settles]

Every ounce of respect I had for you has completely gone away. It's the end of the season, there are only three games left. For those of us fans who's favorite team is still in the fight, it's more than just "a game". I suspect that if you made the same comment to a die-hard soccer fan, even your bunker wouldn't protect you!

Ok, I'm kidding...sort of. It is only a game. But, some people are HUGE fans and really hate missing them.

Good call Jeff, but you are wrong about one thing... Patriots will lose to Green Bay in the Super Bowl (again) proving why Favre, not Brady, is the best QB in the league, possibly ever. I really hope that one doesn't come back to haunt me...

I did ... that's why I'm hiding in Canada? [lol]

I have all the respect in the world for Brett, but there is no way he, and the pack, will beat the Patriots.

I really hope mine doesn't come back to haunt me! With the way the season has gone lately, it could end up being the Chargers and Giants and we'll both be eating crow.

I agree with Jeff ... "tape the game" ??? What kind of self-respecting football fan would do such a sacrilegious thing ???

I'm only interested in one game on Sunday and that's watching the Patriots trounce the Chargers. Can you say the all-time BEST football team in NFL History ??? I'll be at the bar in the Hard Rock Hotel watching the game. Then I'll meander over to the Welcome Reception at SolidWorks World.

There's only one good reason to tape a football game - so you can watch it over, and over, and over...

Think I'll go get the Texas-USC Rose Bowl tape out again...
