I've seen posts here in the past aksing for help on which of these products is the better package. The response most gave is to go thru the tutorials of both and decide for yourself. I'm just about to begin going thru the tutorials on both demo copies.

In the past I've used AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, Microstation and CATIA. I absolutely can not stand to use Autodesk products. I just don't like them.

I know this question does not compare apples to apples but here it goes anyway. If you had to compare SW and SE to Microstation or AutoCAD which one would each be more similar to? I know SE and SW are completely different from Microstation and AutoCad and are much better packages for mechanical design work. Microstation and AutoCad are all most opposites when it comes to the way each package does things. I'm looking for those similarities between SE and SW. I guess what I'm asking is if my mindset works better with Microstation rather than AutoCad am I more likely to like SE or SW?

I am not much familiar with Microstation. I don't campare AutoCad with anything, except to a pencil/paper.
SW and SE are more similar than the rest. I like them both. But from my experience, SolidWorks is easier to use, more powerful, and the company is growing bigger every year. Which shows stability.
