Can someone suggest a program to view native SW files? I've tried to doanload and install the SW 'free' viewer but have had no luck. I can't image Joe User out on our network going thru this hassle just to view a drawing anyway. Other option (that I know of) is the EDrawing. This doesn't interest me because of the extra effort necessary to create and control this 'extra' file. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Try Actify's 3dView but I believe it's a 30 day trial only.

Columbus, can view hundreds of file formats. There is a guy in the U.S. writing a plug-in to handle SolidWorks too, but I don't know when that will be completed.

I got this info. from comp.cad.solidworks, Go to Goggle and run a search on "Solidworks Viewer"
Hope this helps,:-) Scott Baugh, CSWP

I've had good luck with directing non-technical people (Planners, Buyers, Managers) to the SolidWorks site for them to download the SW Viewer. To date, none have had any problems with the instructions there as presented.

Of course, you could also reword the site instructions for people in your company to better understand them, or you can simply download the Viewer yourself and then just email it to the entire company.

Just ideas...
