Does anyone know if Cosmos motion or any other solid works add-in can simulate motion based on a path created by sketch lines, or possibly even the interpolation of a set of sketch points?

Are you just trying to create an Animation? Or are you trying to determine stress due to motion...

I am trying to complete a "reach study" of an ABB 6 axis robot in a part transfer line.

I want to be able to move the face plate of the robot along a path of either sketch lines, or sketch points.

I'm not sure it can be done. You may have to do each step separate along the path. Ask your VAR.

How about…

Create a single point in a 3-d sketch and mate the robot tool to that point. Then us a design table to create configurations which move the point through your working volume. Then you can switch between configs to move the robot, and check joint angles against the ranges of motion. Some VB code may be warranted, if the number of points is large, or you plan on doing this a lot.

Seems kind of clunky, but it might work.
