Hi Guys,

Just wondering if you would be able to give me some advice on Solidworks Simulation

I'm working on a one piece plastic chair and I'm trying to run FEA on it to prove it's viability to a client. I was just wondering how you would run a test to see how far the feet of the chair are displaced when a load is applied to the chair

I don't want them "fixed" to the floor as this isn't giving the desired results.

Would I have to put in a floor surface, which would be a fixed geometry, and mate the feet to this surface? I imagine this would then show the feet sat on the floor, but also show their movement as the force is applied

Any help you can give me would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

ben
