I have a little confliction here - our drawings all have the revision table insert that allows revisions to be added on top of the table so that the oldest rev is on the bottom and the new one gets added on the top

for some reason once in a while I get a drawing that has a table setup so that you add the table and the revisions that get added go on the bottom and then the oldest revision is on the bottom...

now I am in a drawing with a table setup like the second option above... I searched for any table on my computer and found two in the solidworks files... standard and no zone. I tried loading both and they both put the newest revision on the bottom like the second option listed

first: I thought the first option I listed is more of the industry standard... is it?

second: how do I either create or find the second option to insert that table?

Thanks a lot

In the digital world, it really doesn't matter. Back in the paper days, revisions were added to the stack, and the old revs stayed exactly where they were. Top-down or bottom-up was determined by whether the rev table was at the top or bottom of the sheet.

thank you... good to know. I will use that in the future, but for now - for sake of repetition - can someone explain to me how to make them appear on top?

Click on the rev. box and the editor box will appear. Second button in from the right toggles the table header from top to bottom.

FWIW we do all our rev. boxes with initial issue (or Rev. A or whatever you wanna call it!) at the bottom and subsequent revisions added on top.

NICE! I never would have found that button... thanks a lot!

No sweat - took me much longer than it should have to find it myself; now I use it almost daily!
