Solidworks Network Monitor - Uses?

Start > all programs > sw 2010 > swTools > SW network monitor

What is the use of this program? I tried the help file, could nt find much helpful. Any body tried this? Can you share your findings?

I believe its main (only ?) purpose is to co-ordinate the conversion process when upgrading versions of SW. It shares the conversion tasks between several computers.

That's exactly what it is for. The catch is that it will only work on files in folders that all the machines have access to. And it won't work with PDM. So it's great for multiple users on a network. Limited for users with local files, and near pointless for PDM users. A step int eh right direction though.
