Is installation (SW2006) any different if you want to give access to any user of a computer vs. a specific user (and have all customizations available to all users?

Thanks,

Brian

Depends on your setup. Do a search for "admin image".

Sorry--I should have given more info.

I know of the administrative image--I use it for our installs.

I'll explain a little differently--we have one computer that's sort of a back up computer--any user can log into it and work on it. For each new user that logs in, you have to customize the SolidWorks settings with the Copy Settings Wizard--otherwise it runs as a fresh install with default settings.

I know that within the Copy Settings wizard there is an option to copy to 'current user' or to 'one or more network computers'--that second option should apply to any new user on those machines. I've tried that without success.

I think it has something to do with registering settings under 'LOCAL MACHINE' instead of 'CURRENT USER' but that's just a hunch. That's kind of what I was getting at.

Does that help? Thanks,

Brian
