Hi,

I am running SW 2007 SP0 Pro on a Athlon 64 3200+ with 1.5 gigs of ram, and a Quadro 1300. For no reason SW will hit 100% on the cpu and will become non responsive for 10-20 seconds. Then all of the sudden it will come back to life and work great for another 2-3 minutes, then this process repeats itself.

As can be imagined this is very frustrating. Does anyone have any ideas why this would be happening? I have installed the latest video card drivers.

Thanks for you help

This probably isn't video driver related, but do you mean the latest driver from nVidia or from the certified SW list.

Watch the Task Manager to see what process(es) kick in when the CPU runs at 100%.

Disable any add-ins you are not needing during any current session.

SW2007 SP0 had a lot of issues. Not sure if this is one of them. Get up to SP4. I am running that and it is very stable

I wonder if it's the autosave option? I'm having the same problem at times. I had it set for every 10 min then adjusted it for 30 min. Seems to be better now.

If you want to check to see where this is located, go to:
Tools/System Options/Backup-Recover

You can even turn the sucker off if you want. Just besure to save your work from time to time

Do you have Windows Desktop Search enabled? If so, try killing that.
