Does anyone how to add a surface area equations to a bom
to show in a column.
I know that there is a property for surface area, the only
problem is that it shows the surface area of the whole body.
all I need is one surface.

thanks

Use a Design Table populated with the length and width of the face and use those to calculate the area, and then populate a Custom Property in the part, which in turn is read by a BOM.

How do i link the value from the design table to the
BOM?

You cannot link it directly. The value is used to populate a Configuration Specific property of a part and that property is then read by a BOM.

In the DT, type $PRP@Area (or $PRP@your-choice) in the header of the column containing the area calculation and the value will be written to the parts properties.

In the BOM, create a column and reference that column to the newly created property.

The Help files have fairly good explanations of how to do this.

Are you able to do this with weldment bodies and
weldment tables as well?
