Solidworks - Add degree symbol into Sketch Text on a Sketch in a Model 3

Why not use the included SolidWorks degree symbol.
You can also select the More button for more symbols in the Dimension Manager as well.

Another thing to note is that the Alt Keys do not work with every font.
You can check this with notepad or any other text editor by typing the alt code and switching the fonts it will show blank or as [] for fonts it is not included for.

Thanks for the replies! I gave the Alt code another try, this time with the number keypad, it worked!
I am surprised that SW doesn't include a button allowing you to add symbols in this feature, perhaps it will be available in a future release.

I just read this post while searching for the alt code to use. None of the ones posted worked and I had to try different numbers for a while, alt 248 finally worked for the degree symbol. I'm on SW 2012.
If you hold down the alt key and enter a 3 digit number not starting with zero (0) on the keypad most programs will interpret this using the code page 437 encoding. If you hold down the alt key and enter a 4 digit number programs will generally interpret the charachter using the more modern code page 1252. Just in case you wanted more information then you needed on character mapings. (We're Engineers, of course we want more information then we need!) I sometime open an office document and click Insert --> symbol and look for the symbol I want and then look at the alt code to enter which will usually work everywhere. Here are some of my faves:

Alt 0186 · <-- Middle dot, but I'd like to find a bigger one so it shows up better.

<C#-1> for a Circle
<S#-1> for a Square
<T#-1> for a Triangle
The "1" can be replaced with any number you desire, there seems to be a two digit limit.
