Does anyone know of a good site with equations / software to get an estimate on the force generated by a custom coil.

Hi,

1. This may help: Thread237-84957

2. Take a look at what Matlab has to offer.

3. See Electric Machinery - McGraw Hill

Best regards,

I'm curious - did the equations given the the posted threat give a value similar to what you were getting experimentally?

rmetzger,

No i did not. But when i get the time to pick this pet project up again and take it a step further.

If you achieve any practical success please let me know....

Bear in mind that this subject is closely related to some EE course work, so I doubt there will be too much help.

Regards,
