Hello everyone,
I have a model with approx. 500000 DOFs and 7000 CFAST elements.
There is a strong possibility of having to run a SOL106 in the near future and, since we're updating the whole FEM, this is the time to make it flexible for future changes.
I have always heard that CFAST elements are incompatible with SOL106, however, from some small test models, I found that it runs, and results are consistent with correspondent linear analysis.
So, I would like to know if someone has experience running SOL106 with CFAST, considering large displacement force and displacement effects.
Right know all mesh is independent from fastener location. CFAST is being generated based on GS and PROP. If there is the need to use other strategy for fastener modelling, like CBUSH, we'll have to create a compatible mesh, with GRIDs on fastener locations. Considering the number of fasteners, this can be very laborious.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you and regards.
