I am working on a building that is located in the portion of Mercer county, ND that lies in the area designated as "CS" on the Ground Snow Loads map in ASCE 7-05. The foot note to this map (pg 84, ASCE 7-05) indicates that a "site specific case study is required to establish ground snow loads". Has anybody done such a study before? or Are results of such a site specific study for this area available at any source that you can refer me to?

Thanks for your help!

Have you tried the obvious; the Mercer County ND Building Officials ?

Thanks for responses. RWF7437 I will be contacting building officials but wanted to know if other engineers have come across this. Mark...will post additional findings here...MDJ I had already tried the groundsnowbyzip before posting..it basicaly said the same thing "site specific study required" and did not give me any snow loads..

thanks!

I've found calling the military to be helpful. If there's a base anywhere around there, the military will have a design snow load that they use for their building design.

The Army Corps of Engineers sent me a useful document and I've attached it here. North Dakota is on page C-9.
