What is the smallest , packaged MBR wastewater system now commercially available in the US?
Is it generally accepted that the effluent from these packaged units can be discharged directly to US surface waters following UV disinfection?

There are some containerized MBR systems that are rated for 10,000 GPD.

The effluent from an MBR system may be direct discharged assuming that you have a NPDES permit. If there are stringent limits on nitrogen and phosphorus, additional treatment after the MBR system may be required.

Thanks , BIMR.

Smaller units are advertised on Alibaba; one quote from a china supplier is a 5,625 gal/day unit at a CIF ( cost + ins + freight to florida) of $13,500. Smaller units than that are claimed to be available.

Bimr,

Yes, I just found that as well. These are permitted for general use in Massachusetts but will yet require a leach field ( in Massachusetts) and are not yet permitted to directly discharge to surface waters.
