Hi everyone, I'm working on a STAAD model. I have some horizontal bracing in the model along with vertical bracing also. I am getting a SLENDERNESS Error for some of the braces even though the slenderness ratio is less than 200. I calculated the ratio manually. I'm not understanding why I'm getting this as a failed member.

Which code are you using? The Australian code, for example, use 180 for the limit by default, if I remember correctly. To get around this, set the MAIN parameter to 200 for the members in question.

I'm using the AISC 2010 unified. It's odd because I'm designed several large platforms. The braces are about 25 feet give or take a couple feet. In one of the models no failures. In the other I get failures in a few of the braces in compression, but the code is the same I'm not using a different design methodology.
