Hi everyone,

I am an absolute new user to SAFE and I am encountering a very basic issue while defining slab properties.

In the slab property data window, I could see only two options - NO DESIGN and ORTHOTROPIC.

In all the tutorials I could find, it seems that I should click on THICK PLATE option in the slab properties data which is not visible to me.

Can someone help please.

Regards,

GH

just opened my SAFE 2014 and I could choose the THICK PLATE option. What version are you using??

It appears to me that in elder versions SAFE had the options to exclude from design footing of your choice to save time and computer resources. Now (see attached picture) there is no "No design" check mark

Here is an extract from a forum: related.
I am modeling an existing slab with extensive cracking in one direction and I would like to input one slab thickness for the X direction and a different thickness in the Y direction — is this possible?
Sure – when defining the slab properties, check the Orthotropic checkbox on the Slab Property Data form. This will allow you to specify effective thicknesses in both the X and Y directions, as well as an effective thickness for twisting moments.
