I'm running SW2003, SP1.0. Since installing SP0.0, any skeych centerline is invisible. If I cursor over their endpoints, I can see those. I had no problem with any prior versions of SW.

My video card is a 3 yr old TNT, 16mb RAM using the driver recommended on SW's website. Any clues?

Thanks in advance,
Greg

It sounds like a graphic problem (a driver problem or graphic card not powerful enough).

Are you running with OpenGL? Go to Tools/Option/Performance/Software OpenGL. If the box it's unchecked, you are running with OpenGL. Check it, and try again your file. The graphic performance will be very poor but, if the lines are now OK, you confirm that you have a driver or graphic card problem (try another driver or change your garphic card).

Maybe you can solve the problem selecting lower resolution or color depth. Try other monitor settings (running OpenGL).

Good Luck

I’ve noticed the centerlines are much less visible since upgrading to SW2003. Visibility of the centerlines was fine in SW2001, but somehow changed with the upgrade. I’m using a Nvidia GeForce2 MX/MX400 card (and have a crashing problem). The centerlines are visible in sketches unless it is over a line. RVLOVER, is this the same problem you’ve had, or are they just not visible at all?

OMG a 16 MB card, dang how long are waiting when you spin a part [wink].

Definetly look at upgrading your card to at least a 32 card. I would say your problem is with the card. You could try running in VGA mode and if that fixes your problems then it's your video card.

What OS are you using? That can effect crashing along with video card and other things.

I'm running an AMD Athlon XP1800+ @ 1.55GHz, 1024MB memory. Maybe this should be on it's own thread...

But what Operating System are you running?

What video card? latest drivers?

I read yesterday that some people have found that having a some different brand name Memory chips were causing crash problems. Sometimes Memory sticks go bad and this can cause crashing problems.

Some things to think about.

I am also having the same problem as the person who wrote the original question. I am using 2003 SP0.0 and in my drawing file, on the side views of holes only, my centerlines will not show up. Not only that but any type of line I draw is not visible. I have auto centermarks and auto centerlines turned on. The centermarks on the plan views of the holes all show up, just not the side views. I know that this is not a graphic problem because I started another drawing with a different template and everything shows up fine. So this leads me to believe I have some setting set wrong. Does anyone know what this could be?

Thanks

Sorry for the previous question, it was a simple OE(Operator Error). I figured it out (maybe this will help the first person who asked the question). My template was set to a certain layer that was OFF. So my side view centerlines, along with any other lines I was drawing, were being drawn on an off layer.

I would agree with the video card upgrade. Get at least 32MB.

I recently upgraded from SW2001 to SW2003 SP1.0 and my 8MB card couldn't keep up. Upgraded to a 32MB card and the difference is unbelievable.
