Any good reference on designing silo and tanks or other structure under OIL and gas industry for a newbie like me. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Jandra11:
A good ref. book, although not specifically on oil/gas tanks/silos is: “Tubular Steel Structures - Theory and Design,” by M.S. Troitsky, Pub. by Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation. And, it is fairly inexpensive too. While at the Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation web site take a look at “Design of Weldments” and “Design of Welded Structures,” both by Omer Blogett, which are both very good general structural and welding design ref. books. And, good buys too.

@dhengr thank you sir. i hope those books are available here in UAE.

Many of the larger tanks will probably be API 650 or API 620 tanks. You need to find resources using those design codes for larger tanks. Smaller tanks might not have a specific design code and just be vendor design, especially for silos and steep cone bottom tanks.
