Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has experience of how to check the thickness of a silicawool gasket. It is also called fiberglass gasket. We have ordered a yarn of 3mmthickness, when I try to measure it with calliper I find it 1.5mm, but since it is a very soft material I suspect that the jaws of the calliper compress it even though I am taking care to not apply pressure. But there might be some other method to check the thickness which removes this human error.

This is the type of gasket:

Something like this, maybe?

Ask how the manufacturer does it?

Set your caliper to 3 mm and gage it?

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand
