Hi,

I am looking for literature on running steam generators at high pH to maintain the Silica in solution. I am having a hard time finding papers, journals and texts on this and I would really appreciate some help if you know of any great places to look.

Thanks!

Go to the library. They have the capability for inter library access to universities and other resources.

One book is ASME Handbook on Water Technology for Thermal Power Systems.

Contact your local water treatment supplier such as Betz or Nalco.

While at the library look for The Nalco Water Handbook. Or go to the Nalco web site at to see info on it and how to acquire the book.

Thanks for the help. I am going to the library tomorrow.

Are you running once through steam generators to produce 75 - 85% steam or conventional steam generators to produce saturated or superheated steam?

You might find help with solving your problem by looking at the figures on pages 3 and 4 in the following document.

If you are running once through steam generators do notforget to worry about the Na, Fe, SiO2 disalt that can form and cause a very serious tube deposition problem.
