Shock Pulse Linear Acceleration

Can you simulate a shock pulse of 4G (11ms half sine), by using a linear acceleration of 8G (eq Ratio 2:1)in Ansys

Somebody told me that in the Harris shock & vibration handbook, there is a reference that a shock pulse can be simulated by applying acceleration as long as it is a 2:1 ratio.

Anybody know if this is correct
