Shipping Container Technical Drawings Required

Can anyone out there please help? We desperately need to get hold of technical drawings (in .dwg format) of 20' and 40' shipping containers. Does anyone have these?

We have written to several manufacturers and they seem very reluctant to part with theirs. Must think we are going to make them ourselves!! We are Australian not Chinese so little chance of us making them here!!!

A quick response would be much appreciated. We have a tight schedule to meet.

thanks very much for these threads but none of these seem to lead me to technical drawings. Some lead to 3D models and other links are 'expired'.

It is detailed technical drawings we need. Simple dimensions or models are not enough.

A simple Google search turned up some:

many thanks for your input.

I am not sure if you have visited the sites provided by the google search you suggest but the vast majority still do not provide detailed tech drawings. The site you show only provides drawings for one size of container and not the generally used versions.

It now seems that there is only one place to get accurate drawings and that is

Good news that you found them. Sometimes it's quicker to measure and model a part than to search for the drawing.
You will have to recreate these in SolidWorks anyway.

Stuart, thanks for the tip to ISBU Association link. The "Artist" link wasn't near what I needed. After reading more about the guy I realize with the county made him tear down his project after it was completed. ...that's a signal.

I bought the ISBA CAD drawings then asked them for a SolidWorks version and they had it in 3 days no extra charge. Thats pretty good in my book.

9to5 ... Do you think that ISBU/ISBA would appreciate their product being pirated here. I know the site management here would not be pleased.

You can buy the 3D sets of 20' and 40' in GP and HC (4 sets) for just $58. If you or your company cannot afford that, perhaps you or they should be in another line of work.
