Oblique projection in Solidworks drawings questions

Hello.

Does anyone know how to do cabinet/oblique projection in Solidworks ? Can you please point me at a tutorial.

It doesn't really do that per the textbook version of oblique projection, but you could create a plane using geometry and do a normal to that and save your view.

For drawing custom projections, I usually start with a standard view e.g. front or top. Then rotate using arrow keys--first horizontal, then vertical. This results in a view where view X and Z are angled and Y is still vertical. Save the view and use in drawing.

In the drawing space the Y axis does not remain parallel to the view/drawing window by doing rotations. The coordinate system remains orthogonal. This also means that the projected X and Y lengths are not in the same ratio as an orthographic view.

In an oblique view X and Y translations are applied scaled to the depth; there are no rotations. The coordinate system is skewed. Projected X and Y lengths retain the same ratio as an orthographic view. In manual drafting it's a fairly cheap to create.
