Greeting All,

if we want to include the global bending moment of the ship into the local study for the equipment foundation. how can we do that?
its take so much time to design the whole hull for the FEA study.

Thanks for the reply.
My apologies, I'm currently working with FEMAP software to do a analysis study for the stools of module. it take a lot of time to model the whole hull structure and the bending moment on it.

My question is,
How to apply the pre-load stress on my local element model that representing the stress generated by the deflection and global bending moment of the hull?

Maybe you are looking in the wrong direction. You may not want your equipment foundation to become a structural component of the hull.

Can you isolate your foundation from the hull via resilient mounting?

I have seen sliding joints utilized in structures above the main deck so that they do not contribute to the structure of the hull.

Caterpillar recommends a 3-point mounting solution so that hull deflections do not affect machinery alignment.
