Hi,
I want to learn how to creat a bend or attached wall(with radiu)WITHOUT rip,

in prSheetmetal, you always need a rip when creating a bend or wall(with radiu), but in the real workshop, they bend the sheet without any rip, you may say it a stretch rip, but proE doesn't allow to creat a stretch rip at most time, Do any one know how to do it, may modify the bend table and how :)

Thank you

ED

It’s not right that you always need a rip when creating a bend, or wall, you may just use this technique in some cases. You also have the “stretch relief” option if needed, or in most cases just a regular bend along one edge. You can also use easier ways to create a sheet metal part, like bending, and unbending and adding cuts and walls in the flat state if having problems with advanced techniques.

Hi,

Yes I do face this problem. In some cases, following different approach works.
- Start your part as solid
- Conver it to sheet metal using shell command
- Then convert it to complete sheet metal using corner reliefs, bend edges etc at appropriate places.
I can send you a sample file when I go back to office.
