Shall I measure deflection results on the point of a concentrated load application?

Hi,

I am modelling an internally reinforced beam, composed of steel sheet of 2 mm in ANSYS MECHANICAL APDL. I am applying concentrated loads as simple bending. I need the deflection results in at least one point. Shall I use the point where the load is applied? Or any other point is suitable? What criterion shall I use?

thanks
hmalfs,

Your objective is unclear to me. I would imagine that the deflection at the applied point would be exaggerated, but totally depends on your goal with this simulation.
