Sir
I want to know about sew euro-drive gear motors. I unable to understand the nomenclature of variable speed gearbox. If any one have good understanding about gearbox nomenclature please help me to answer my simple questions
1)How to know about the specs of gear box from nomenclature
What does these numbers mean
R47R37D16D17ID4
R47D26DI90L4
I want to know the specification of these models.
2)How to calculate torque of helical gear motor & how the torque varies in Variable speed gearbox
3)How to calculate the gear ratio of variable speed gearbox?

The R series is a fixed-ratio helical gearbox. The D series is a "Varimot" variable-speed drive, i.e. a VFD (variable frequency drive). So, the thing that you are asking about is not a "continuously variable transmission" with a variable reduction ratio at all. It is simply a fixed-ratio gearbox driven by a motor that operates not at fixed speed (based on the 50 or 60 Hz incoming AC power supply) but rather at a variable speed of your choice (by an AC frequency set by the VFD "variable frequency drive").

This is totally conventional in this day and age.

The (fixed) reduction ratio can be anything you choose that meets your application requirements within the torque and speed ratings of the gearbox. SEW has an enormous range of choices and offers many tools for helping you choose something appropriate for your application. They have sales staff who can answer questions by phone as well.
