Although brass does wear badly, We have a lot of it around and it for use aS SINKER EDM elctrode material. Since these electrodes are wire edm'd brass is fast cutting in that regard. Does anyone know some good setting for minimizing wear on the electrode ( no wear) with a brass electrode in a sinker application? Any other tips on sinking brass electrodes would be appreciated as well! Thanks in advance.

Cryogenically treat the electrodes for reduced wear.

Thanks Frederick for your help.

However, I'm afraid we won't be allowed to spend funds for additional treatment, as we're useing the scrap brass for electrode material as a cost savings method.

I'm really looking for a minimal wear setting for plain brass as an electrode material in a sinker application. I don't know if there is a low wear / no wear condition for brass?
