Hello,

I have a question regarding sensors. We have heat treat ovens of temperature around 1000 F. The doors of the ovens are closed and the billets move on the conveyor. I wanted to know what kind of sensor can be used to detect the billets approaching the Unload door so that we don't bang the billets to the door and we get the signal on the indicator light about the end of travel. Also which sensor can be used to detect the temperature of the billets coming out of oven ( the billets are usually at a temperature of 900F

Thank you

As for the hot billet not bashing the door I recommend a typical optical detector SET. One is the transmitter and one is the receiver. Put a hole on both sides of the tunnel and shine the beam thru the tunnel where the billet will interrupt the beam just ahead of the door. The transmitter and receiver stay outside in acceptable temperature areas. They can easily see 20 feet if needed.
