Hi All,

I have a project right now that involves monitoring for failures within a landing gear control system. We have solenoid operated valves that at times fail at the energizing coil and I would like to detect these failures. We have a control box that is capable of monitoring (so I'm told) and can send out signals to the components.

My goal is to educate myself further regarding monitoring and how it can be incorporated. Different techniques, what they look like physically, and then the trade offs of the different techniques. Does anyone have this kind of information? Having a tough time finding anything for it on the internet.

Background is mechanical, so this is a new realm for me.

Thanks,
HMD
