Hello to all here is my problem. I have a part of a rotary kiln which is a cylinder 6m long and diameter is 5.3m.
Thickness varies from 76 to 49 mm.I want to know the displacement at y axis and z axis due to its ovality when has no load only its self weight. Should i make an analysis with gravity load or its another analysis to find solution. I made a curve and fix all dofs at the bottom of the cylinder and applied a gravity load. The results tell me that at y axis has 23mm disp is it logical? Thank you in advance.
