Hi,
We need to do seismic and standard pipe stress inhouse and thus I have been investigating which software to buy. My feeling is that eventually it will be between Algor PipePak, AutoPipe and Caesar. I got demo software from some of the suppliers but they have deactivated so much functions that it is useless to evaluate. I also went through the user manuals which I could find. We are working on Unigraphics and it looks like the only way to communicate with all the pipe stress software is to export to .PCF (Isogen).
Comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

Have you discussed this with the software’s sales staff? Most engineering software companies will give you a 2 to 4 week fully functional version for the explicit purpose of evaluation. You must ask them for this before they will provide the fully functional evaluation version.

Alwynb,

I just purchased Algor's PipePak. I ran an extended evaulation copy that was not limited in any way other than time (& when that ran out, they extended it). You need to get with their sales people. I have been working with Marty Sivic but that depends on your geographical location. FYI, I would never reccomend buying any engineering software without getting a full evaluation copy. Just keep hammering them until they give it to you!
