Hello all, I have a question:
How should I approach the seismic design of columns inside perlite-filled cold boxes? The easy way would be to treat each column as free-standing; but would this be a safe approach, considering the effect of piping & other equipment attached, and the perlite? would perlite 'help' the situation or will it make it worse?
Is there a reference source, treating this?
