Hi all,

I created a section cut in my assembly to show internal parts and then save the configuration. Is there a way to call up that configuration in the drawing to display the section cut or do I have to recreate the cut in the drawing?

Thanks!

Joel

What version of SE?

In 19 you can call up configurations in views (right click on view, properties, at the bottom of the second tab) however it basically only controls what items are shown/hidden.

So no I dont' think you can do what you're asking, at least in the versions I've used.

However, sections are very easy to do in draft.

I am using version ST2. I created a section cut within the drawing but I think that since I did create a section in the assembly that the view should come over to the drawing. Wishful thinking I guess. Thanks for your help!

In V19, as well as ST3 you can place a view in draft.
Right click on the view, and select properties.
Click on the sections tab under properties, and place a check in the box of the approperiate section you wish to show in the view.
Update, and your sectioned view should not show.

Thanks av8err. That worked!I did that before but the auto update was not turned on so I never updated the drawing view. Sorry for all the dumb questions but this is 2nd week of Solid Edge. Came off of using Solid Works for many years and just trying to transition for a new job.

Hmm, I'll have to look, I guess maybe every day is a school day after all.

No problem.
I'm still learning (and forgetting and learning again) new ways to accomplish what I need to get done in Solid Edge.
