Hi all,
I'm now the lucky user of SW07 after no subscription since SW2001+

Question: Seems one cannot edit the section view label text box in this release.
Ex:
click in box SECTION X-X
Hit return for a new line
Type in additional text such as quantity

Resulting in:

SECTION X-X
24x

Cannot do this in 2007 editor rejects change, must be a standards driven enhancement. Any way around?

Thanks

I'm still using 2005 right now. The work around I use is to edit under its Properties pop-up (right-click on the label and pick "Properties") and remove the "hidden" charactor (hidden coding) with delete key by putting the cursor just after the X-X and delete, then press enter and start typing. SW will put back the hidden code if you try to edit the label again unless you come back to its Properites again.

When modifying a Section View label you need to first select the text and in the feature tree there is an option to check "manual view label". With that checked you will be able to add any text to your section views without it resetting to the default.

Thanks guys, it's just a check box and I looked in the wrong places. Could this box be checked by default in options somewhere?

The other problem with view labels is that I cannot see them except when hovering the pointer over them. They print. I have been putting them on a visible layer as a work-around. The "none" layer is a non-layer with no controls and would rather leave the view labels there. This problem does not crop up when placing notes or dims, only the view labels. Cannot find any reason for this in the settings..

The IT dept thinks graphics problem, maybe, as this box has a GeForce FX 5200 which is non-certified according to the SW site.

If you are running a GeForce card, then that is almost certainly the problem. Are you using the 6.14.10.8421 driver?

If you can upgrade the card then do so. If not you may want to consider "forcing" the card to a Quadro.
See success with rivatuner! thread559-87811

Yes, driver version is indeed 6.14.10.8421
I'll read-up on that CBL, & if I get the nuts up to do it (not my box) I'll post the results here.

Thanks again
