Hi,

Please what is the common seam type for carbon steel pipe end cap? I think they are seamless, but I am not sure if this is the case for every end cap. Kindly, provide links for any references if you have one. I am also interested in studying the different pipe fittings available for transmission and high distribution pipelines. Thanks

Welded or seamless,

Dimensions: ASME B16.9 factory made wrought steel buttweld fittings
CS Materials: ASTM A234 WPB is for forged or welded fittings.
HS Materials & Dimensions: MSS SP44 high strength and large dimensions

Please, are end caps always seamless or are there non seamless end caps available? Thank you

This has been addressed before
It would appear that for most "normal" sizes, say 36" or less, seamless is most common due to the manufacturing process being made from steel plate and no need to weld two plates or halves together. Bigger than that you're more likely to call it a pressure vessel head.

Thank you, LittleInch!
