This callout is for assy/shipping purposes. Before this was called out as a 1/8" tack weld. We had a customer complaint due to the welds failing/parts seperating. Just want to make sure it is correct.

Correct for what?

Correct for an 1/8" tack - no it's not.

Correct for an temporary weld that can be easily removed - no it's not.

Correct if we assume the black dots on your drawing are the required welds - no it's not.

a little more thought in what the application is, & what loads is required.
is it to be temporary or is it permanent. see link on my previous post.

Looks like the edge joint would be a good call out. We are looking to start from the endge and make the weld 1/2" or 3/8" long. What are your thoughts?

I would believe the fillet weld would be a good start, the length & the interval would depend on the strength required.
do the calcs !
I would follow as suggested on the other thread prior to this post. to follow the guidelines of the AWS.

is this a simple holding device, & there any safety issues. one must think out the ramifications if it is done incorrectly.
a destructive test on one article would be a good bet that the final product will work for your requirements.
in other words test one or two parts, to make sure it will hold. or re weld & repeat the test until the it passes.

Good luck
