I need to design a 2-pass and a split flow heat exchangers with longitudinal baffles in removeable bundles. Does any one have any details of the seal strips that run along the length of these baffles. Material is carbon steel.

Thanks

heatexguys' detail is widely used. What it may not make clear is that the seals are curved towards the inlet side, so that the pressure differential across the seal "energizes" it.

Mike

Tomtation,

Any specific reason for using a CS sealing strip? You could use Y seals made of silicon rubber or EBR. They are more flexible and it seals from both the sides of the bundle.
