Scroll or Semi Hermetic?

Does a scroll compressor ZR81 work the same as a Carlyle 06DA8 Semi Hermetic?
This is for a Central 3Phase package unit to keep temp around 73 to 79 degrees of comfort.
I have had a few experienced air conditioning repair techs tell me it would not matter for high temp system only for low.
