What is anyone's opinion on the use of scheduled drawings, and do they work well in an inventor(idw) file?

We are trying to find the best way to view drawings on the shop floor, taking in all considerations (BOM, server space, ECOs)

I had planned on creating iparts of all components, and creating unique idws for each and every one. The current CAD drafters want to use scheduled drawings.

I am afraid that if we cut corners now, it will burn us later.

Please expand on what a scheduled drawing is. We sometimes use what we call a tab drawing that could have 30-50 different assemblies on one drawing. We have moved away from this in recent years.

Where I work we use a PDM (Product Data Management) system to control our drawings. The drawings are in .pdf format and we use an internal web page to search for and view them.
