Scale Build Up in PVC Water Network

Does anyone know of any cleaning method high levels of scale build up in a PVC water network. Currently the team leaves the pipes unglued and cleans them manually but this is far from satisfactory (or sanitary). If a product is needed (I'm assumng some sort of acid would break down the limescale) are there any that are certified for potable drinking water? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by unglued?

What type of water network is this?

If this is for a lime feed system at a waterplant, there is not good solution. The best is to place the lime feeders directly above the point of injection. Other solutions I've seen and used are:

1. Open troughs flowing by gravity that can be cleaned manually.

2. Flexible hose in break apart sections that can be hit with a mallet to flex and break the buildup off. Note this only partially works. The hoses end up being replaced with a clean section so the old one can be flushed and placed in an acid bath to eat the lime out.
